No, you need an Internet Explorer Browser (5.0 or above), Windows operating system (98 or higher), PC microphone, Internet connection (56k or higher), and Email address.

Can I use a Firefox browser?
No, at this time you must have an Internet Explorer browser (IE), version 5.0 or higher.

Can I use a Mac?
No, at this time the application is only supported by Windows.

How long does it take to create and record a new assignment?
It depends on the size and type of assignment. Short audio recordings can be completed in a few minutes, and you can copy, paste, and edit text materials from your own PC in no time at all Assignments can be re-used as often as you like, and submitted to new students in a matter of seconds.

How long does it take to evaluate a completed student assignment?
It depends on the size and type of assignment. Short audio recordings can be evaluated in a few minutes, likewise for correcting the answers to short text questions. You can also copy and paste the answers to text questions in no time at all.

How many new course lessons and assignments can I create?
There is no limit to the number of lessons or assignments you can create.

How do I customize individual student lessons and assignments?
For audio recordings, you will need to re-record. For text materials, simply open and edit the topic/assignment, then save it as a new topic/assignment.

Who owns each new course content and materials?
Instructors and schools own all course content and materials.

Can I add web site links and content to assignments?
Yes, you may include site links for content as you wish.

Are there any shortcuts to preview or submit student assignments?
No, you must always follow the same click path preview or submit assignments: Course>Topic>Assignment>Preview and Submit Assignment.

How do I know when a student has completed a new assignment?
You will be automatically notified by email to login and evaluate each newly completed assignment.

Is there a time limit for each recording?
There is a time limit of five minutes for each clip that you record.

How do I add gitano.org to my email safe list or address?

Due to the increase in junk mail protection by AOL, Hotmail/MSN, and Yahoo mail, to be sure you have no trouble receiving assignments, follow these steps:

For HOTMAIL/MSN USERS: Click on Options>Junk Email Protection>Safe List, then add the gitano-learning.com to your safe list.

 

For YAHOO USERS: With Yahoo mail, your email may end up in the bulk folder. If this happens, open the email, click "Not Spam", and all future emails will go to your inbox.

 

For AOL USERS: You must permit email or it will be placed in the bulk or unknown sender list. To do so, add support@gitano-learning.com to your "people I know" list.
